Hopefully, this week will be a little less nutty than last week when late nights at work pretty much took the planned menu and … well … let’s just say that Robbie Burns’s line about the “best laid plans of mice and men” applied.  BUT, because everything was either freezable or made for a good lunch the following day, nothing was wasted. 

And, that ‘s the whole idea behind planning your menu for the week — it gives you focus when you go shopping so you don’t waste money and it helps you plan what you cook and when so that you don’t waste food.

  • Sunday:  Southwest Corn Chowder and Pulled Pork Sammiches
  • Monday:  Jamie’s Fish and Couscous
  • Tuesday:  Chicken for “les parasseaux” (my Dorie Greenspan recipe for the week), green beans, cauliflower, roast potatoes
  • Wednesday:  leftovers
  • Thursday:  Scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on toast
  • Friday:  Chicken Marsala
